Who can participate

The Event’s mission is to bring together peace-seeking individuals actively engaged in its pursuit open from any field. It serves as a platform for sharing personal experiences, knowledge, and skills related to peace initiatives and campaigns. Through gatherings, particularly within the monastery, it fosters connections among participants, encouraging the exchange of ideas and the advancement of peace through preaching and meditation. By uniting, participants create networks aimed at promoting inner peace, thereby fostering community harmony and, ultimately, global peace. All those interested in nurturing inner peace and spreading happiness are warmly encouraged to join, contributing their unique perspectives and strengths to the collective effort.

This Walk is divided into tree category;

  1. Full time walker – they will walk for 3 days walk from Swayambhunath Stupa to Namo Buddha Temple via Shree Gha, Charumati, Boudh, Nagadesh, Muni Vihar, Nala Gumba, Shristikanta Lokeswor, Dhyanakuti Vihar, Namo Buddha Dyokshen and finally to Namo Buddha. They will stay in dormitory of Bihar on 1st and 2nd day and 3rd day return to Kathmandu by transport. We anticipated full time walker this year is 25 persons. They will provided T-shirt, cap, rucksack, umbrella and plastic raincoat.
  2. Day Walker – Interested can participate as day walker. Any one start from a) Swayambhu or b) Muni Vihar or c) Dhyanakuti Vihar. There could be 25-50 people’s addition to full time walker. They will provided T-shirt, cap and food.
  3. Partial walker – Interest can join and starting or stoppage, i.e. Swayambhu or Shree Gha or Charumati or Boudh or Nagadesh or Muni Vihar or Nala Gumba or Shristikanta Lokeswor or Dhyanakuti Vihar or Namo Buddha Dyokshen. These will be addition to 25 Full Time walker and Day walkers. Based on our six years of experience. They will be provided food + T-shirt and cap subject to availability.

We expect a notable number of participants, including approximately 150 partial walkers in Day One from Swayambhunath Stupa to Shree Gha Virar, and over 250 individuals in Day Three from Namo Buddha Dyokshen in Panauti to Namo Buddha Temple.

Traditional and cultural organizations and teams are encouraged to participate with cultural bands (music). Your participation is highly welcomed. Please reach out to us promptly at nepal@peacetourist.com  to ensure the successful management of the event.

Participants can register their names by 30th August under the category that best suits their convenience, aiding organizers in efficiently managing the event. All levels of commitment are welcome.

How to Participate

Sponsors or participants are required to submit a separate registration for each group or individual attending the specific walk. Nepal Peace Walk strongly encourages early registration. Requests for registration and cancellations must be made before August 30, 2024. Further details will be provided to participants upon confirmation of their registration.

Participants have the option to register by depositing the specified tariff into the designated bank account provided during registration. Interested individuals can sign up under different categories:

– Full-time walker NRs. 2,000 – Foreigner be charged US$ 100 subject hotel accommodation.

– Day walker NRs. 1,000

– Partial walker NRs. 500

These tariffs cover the expenses for uniforms, trekking gear (full time walker), food, and accommodation.

Alternatively, participants may join with free of tariff in the event. Those interested in applying for free admission are timely encouraged.

Please ensure that you fill out the form with accurate information and submit the completed forms along with a scanned copy of your passport (for non-Nepali citizens) and proof of accommodation booking if staying outside the monastery, based on your preference.

Visa

The Nepalese government has a policy for visa-on-arrival. However, for those who wish to obtain a visa in advance, a virtual meeting will be organized to facilitate the visa processing for entry into Nepal. Here is the website on Nepalese Visa process – https://www.immigration.gov.np/en
