3 Days Walk with Cultural Peace Lamp for Inner & World Peace, Solidarity & Brotherhood Amongst World Religions

Embark on a soulful journey from Swayambhunath to Namo Buddha

Walk with Cultural Peace Lamp is an annual three-day event organized by Global Cultural Peace Walk forum since 2017, in collaboration with various local organizations including last year led by Kavre Sewa Samaj and Peace Tours International from this year. It takes place on the eve of the International Day of Peace and aims to pave the way for future "Global Cultural Peace Walk." The walk commences from the iconic Swayambhunath Stupa and concludes at the sacred Na:Ma (Namo) Buddha Temple. The Na:Ma Buddha Temple holds historical significance as it is believed to be the burial site of Prince Mahasatwa, dating back approximately 6000 years. Legend has it that Prince Mahasatwa made the ultimate sacrifice by offering himself to a starving tigress and her newborn cubs, showcasing the values of compassion and selflessness. Intrigued are warmly invited to join in a symbolic walk, retracing the footsteps of the esteemed preacher of peace and light of Asia, Siddhartha Gautama Buddha, as it meanders through diverse cultural communities toward the enlightened sanctuary of Prince Mahasatwa. This endeavors to spread the message of peace, compassion, and unity across borders, transcending cultural and geographical boundaries.
